DALADÝRÐ
Booking terms
Updated:
These terms apply to visits booked with Daladýrð. By booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.
Booking and payment
Your visit is confirmed when payment is received and we send your booking confirmation. Check that your contact details, date, time and number of guests are correct.
The total shown before payment includes applicable taxes and fees. All visit times are Iceland local time. Arctic fox visits last about 30 minutes.
Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel or do not attend, your booking is not refundable, except for the road-access exception below or where required by law. There is no free cancellation period.
You can receive a full refund if the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration reports the access road to Daladýrð as closed or impassable due to weather or road conditions, and this prevents you from reaching us for your booked visit.
Poor weather, a weather warning or your decision not to travel does not by itself qualify for a refund while the access road remains open and passable.
If we cancel your visit, including because of weather, safety, animal welfare or events beyond our control, you may choose another available time or a full refund.
The usual 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date or period under Icelandic law.
Contact us to request a refund. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process them.
Changing your booking
After payment, you can use your private booking link to choose another available date at the same price. Contact us for other changes. Changes depend on availability and do not make a non-refundable booking refundable.
Arrival
Please arrive at your booked time. If you arrive late, your visit may be shorter. We cannot promise extra time or a refund, and may be unable to admit you if the remaining time is too short or another booking follows.
Children, animals and safety
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Follow staff instructions, signs and barriers. Do not enter private, closed or staff-only areas.
Live animals can behave unpredictably. Approach, touch or feed them only with staff permission. Stay calm and do not chase, frighten, tease or disturb them.
We may stop animal contact or end a visit to protect guests, staff or animals. If you are refused entry or asked to leave because of dangerous, abusive or disruptive behaviour, or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, no refund will normally be given.
Animal welfare and changes to the visit
Animal welfare comes first. An animal or area may be unavailable because of health, veterinary care, weather or safety. Minor changes do not normally qualify for a refund.
If we substantially shorten your visit or cannot provide its main advertised activity, contact us about an alternative visit or an appropriate refund. Your statutory rights still apply.
Clothing, health and belongings
Wear clothes and shoes suitable for the weather and a farm environment. Surfaces may be uneven, muddy or slippery. We are not responsible for dirt, stains or normal wear that you can reasonably expect during a visit.
Consider allergies or other health concerns involving animals, hay or dust before booking. Tell staff anything relevant to safe participation. Contact us before booking if you have questions about accessibility.
Please look after your belongings. Responsibility for loss or damage is determined by applicable law.
Weather and outdoor conditions
Parts of the visit may be outdoors. Check the weather and road conditions before travelling and dress accordingly. Ordinary rain, wind, snow or cold does not necessarily mean cancellation. We may adjust or cancel activities if conditions are unsafe. The refund rules above apply.
Photography
You may take photos for personal use unless staff ask you not to. Respect other guests and do not disturb the animals. Commercial photography, organised shoots and promotional photography need our permission in advance.
Icelandic law and your rights
These terms and bookings are governed by Icelandic law. Nothing in these terms removes your mandatory consumer rights or limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Questions, complaints and contact details
If you have a question or something is wrong with your visit, please contact us as soon as you can. Include your booking reference when asking to cancel, change a booking or request a refund.
